JANNEKE DE LANGE

De Lange is an accomplished artist and designer whose education includes an exchange semester focusing on ceramics at SPACE Arita, Saga University, Japan, and an internship with Studio Fernando Laposse in Mexico City, Mexico. She also holds a propaedeutic certificate in Chemical Engineering and Chemistry from the Technical University, Eindhoven.

De Lange has showcased her work at several prestigious events, including the Japanese Knotweed Festival in Amsterdam and the Isola Design Festival, as part of Milan Design Week, Italy, in 2024. The artist has participated in OBJECT, Rotterdam, and the Rooms Performance Festival at Marres, House for Contemporary Culture in Maastricht (Limburg, the Netherlands), highlighting de Lange’s active presence in contemporary design practice. De Lange was featured in the Dutch Design Week’s Graduation Show in 2023 and shortlisted in the Association of Dutch Designers (BNO) Yearbook, also winning second prize in the Hertogenbosch-based Cor Unum Design Contest.

De Lange’s early achievements include multiple awards in the Kunstbende Zuid-Holland competitions, excelling in both fashion and expo categories, as well as winning first and second prizes in various art competitions at Art Centre Kadmium in Delft and an international competition in Freiberg, Germany. De Lange’s career is marked by a hands-on approach to design, a deep fascination with nature, and the integration of scientific elements into her projects, reflecting a diverse educational background and broad professional experiences. As an Artist in Residence in VIAD, de Lange worked work with living matter, using the nature of the material to explore its traditional and unconventional possibilities.
